I used cPanel to make the HTML and pasted it to my web page. The counter shows on my NVu editing page. No problem so far...
When I upload the page and view it in my IE browser, I get an error message in the counter box:
Counter datafile"/var/cpanel/Counters/username.dat%....blah...CddA" must be created in Cpanel First!
Is there supposed to be a file called Count.cgi for the data file? Is it supposed to be loaded by cPanel, or do I create it myself? This is where I'm seriously lost.
There is nothing in the (s)cgi-bin directory called "count" or ".dat", just other non counter related cgi files.
I went ahead and created files in both CGI and SCGI directories. "username.dat" and "count.cgi" and simply put a zero in them thinking this is supposed to be where the counting is performed. How wrong am I?
Does enabling CGI-Wrapper and creating a SCGI-bin folder have any infuence on this process?
If there is supposed to be a counter datafile at /var/cpanel/counters/username.dat, how do I do that?
BTW, I did use my admin name, not "username"...
