    Default Change exim ip

Hi I got a problem with hotmail and wanted to change exims ip for sending e-mail, I done it under /etc/exim.conf addedd the interface = under remote smtp, now I wanted to add the ptr for it to work but the datacenter tells me the hostname still points to my old IP I changed the a record for the hostname under /var/named/hostanme.db and edited the /etc/hosts (restarted bind and httpd) file but still the server will point to my old IP am I missing something?

    Thanks in advanced

    hi ,

try resolving the hostname locally to see if ...it's works locally, you can use host command below.

    host " your-host-name" localhost

    thanks
