    Default Change Permissions from WHM manager?

    hello
    can anyone tell me how to Change Permissions?
    i know how to change it from cpanel but i have a file and could not be changed from cpanel
    when trying to Change Permissions for thet file i got this msg
    "/home/heedaya/public_html/vb chmod failed: Operation not permitted in /home/heedaya/public_html "

    You could always SSH in and use the chmod command via ssh.

    You may also want to do a ls -l to see who owns that file. If it's anything other than the account owner, you may want to chown that file to that account owner. If that account owner doesn't own the file, cPanel will not let the user chmod (change permissions) that file.

    You can always try to modify the permissions using 'chmod' via the command line.

    I'm assuming the file has root permissions which is preventing you from modifying the permissions as a regular user.

    im sorry it is actually a folder not a file "vBulletin"
    can i change the permissions from WHM as a root?
    and can it be changed by the reseller

    am sorry i ask too much

    WHM does not offer any file management capabilities at this time. You should be able to do this via SSH as root.
