you can change the persmissions from the cpanel.
goto cpanel-> file manager -> click on any file name/folder name ->
you'll get a menu on the right frame. click on the change permissions ->
select which permissions you want
If your permission changing is not working.. this may be a solution :
connect to the server using SSH.
run the command
pico /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x2/files/changeperm.html
and locate
............
............
<cpanelFileman="changepe
.........
and put a space between "cpanel" and "Fileman"
save the file
it should solve the problem..

Can someone please check this for me on their CPANELS.
I can not get this feature to work. I can not change file permissions.
It does not give error message, but it does not change permissions of any of the files!
