ClamAV auto-update does not work

Hi,

Although the tickbox "Install and Keep Updated" is checked in WHM, ClamAVconnector (cPanel->Addon modules) needs to be manually uninstalled and installed again to get it updated. Is this a known problem?

I'm using "WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.8.2-R119, CentOS 4.3 x86_64 - WHM X v3.1.0".

It auto-updates so long as you auto-update cpanel. If you have cpanel updates set to manual then it won't update the addon scripts automatically either. You don't have to uninstall it, by the way. Just press submit at the bottom of the screen again.

The problem is that cPanel is still offering version 0.88.3-1.7 and not yet the latest release.

they cant just update it without first testing that it still works with clamavconnector, hence why they are a little behind.

That's completely understandable. The update has only been out a day...
Last update it took cPanel more than a week to release the new version.

Edit : Have checked it via the Logwatch e-mails. It took them 25 days instead of "more than a week"!

I do agree that the updates are a little slow at times, but at least you know by the time you get them they are reasonably stable
