    Default cname and mx records

I have a customer who wants his cname and mx record info changed to the following:

    YOURDOMAIN. IN MX 10 MAIL.OEMMAIL.COM
    THEMAIL.YOURDOMAIN. IN CNAME WEB.OEMMAIL.COM

How would I go about doin this? In WHM I click on "edit an MX entry" then select his domain. Now what do I put in the "Change MX entry to point to" box? MAIL.OEMMAIL.com or WEB.OEMMAIL.com? Will this take care of both cname and mx records? thanks.

You should open the DNS record with "Edit a DNS Zone"

Here you can change the priority for MX to 10 if that is what he wants and on the right hand side you can change where it is supposed to go to (MAIL.OEMMAIL.COM).
Right below that is the mail CNAME and you should change that on the right hand side to WEB.OEMMAIL.COM.

This is exactly what told you to do even if there may be a problem for him after.

I see 2 CNAMES, one for mail and one for www. Do I change them both to WEB.OEMMAIL.COM.?

Also which one is the priority? I see a 0 to the right of MX. So I just change that to 10 right? thanks for the help.

Ok I did what you said but the customer is getting this error:

Status of your MX record: Your MX Record is Correct

Status of your CNAME record: Please try again later. There is a problem
getting to the Root DNS Server.

I also had a similar client lately. I made the changes that he wanted, just added new cname entries for themail and web and let it be. If it works, it works. its not my problem to get it to work, I just made the changes that they asked me to make.
