Cname Setup

I was supposed to forward irc.domain.com to some other irc.domain.co.uk, am I doing this right?

irc.domain.com 14400 IN CNAME irc.domain.co.uk

Irc server is the second one, and irc.domain.com would be entered when you want to connect to Chat. I dont have to setup subdomain irc.domain.com, right? (at least it wasnt needed on RAQ )

And my APF (firewall) is blocking port 6667, but it shouldnt matter as it is only redirecting to another server, or should I enable this port?

tnx

yes, your cname seems fine....

and as long as the irc server isn't on your box..then no..you don't need it's port open....it is just a dns query.

tnx for your help, it's just that IRC clients retutn server can't be resolved, but it could be issue with the IRC Server itself. not sure (irc.domain.co.uk is working, but mine is not)
