Configure apache to look in user directory

I am new to setting up cpanel and just got my server the other day but here's my question.

I have nameservers as:
ns1.bear-servers.com
ns2.bear-servers.com

In cpanel how do I configure apache so that when I go to bear-servers.com or my main IP that they are shown my index page for bear-servers.com??

Do I need to create an account in cpanel for this to work or what?

The only comment I got from someone was:
"You configure Apache (via cpanel) to look in user directory (this is just an example) /home/YOU/public_html for files when someone goes to www.yourdomain.com"

I want it so that when a user goes to my IP or bear-servers.com they are seen our hosting index page.

Create an account through WHM.

Ok I created an account but here's my question when I go to the ip: 65.75.172.42 it brings up a site that is hosted with me not the site I want to show which is: http://www.bear-servers.com.

So my question is how do I point that IP to bear-servers.com?

go into httpd.conf and find the section that says:
<VirtualHost 65.75.172.4>
.......
ServerName www.bear-servers.com
....
</VirtualHost>


Add the line:
ServerAlias 65.75.172.4

inside the VirtualHost

#httpd restart

I know this may sound stupid but how do I gain access to httpd.conf or where is this? Is this inside the cpanel?

I am leasing this dedicated server and like I said I am new to this...

use ssh. Look for a beginner unix tutorials or maybe a book. If you're gonna be a sysadmin, you need to know unix, not just cPanel.
