In the WHM under Configure Backup. you can choose the follow option:
Remount/Unmount backup drive (requires a separate drive/coda/nfs mount)
Can i turn this option on?

Where do you want to back up your files? Do you have a separate drive?

Yes i have a second HDD to backup.
I would appreciate others chiming in that know more about this stuff than I do... but my understanding is that if you enable the remount/unmount option, then /backup will only be available to you during the cpbackup process. It will mount the drive or partition when needed for the nightly cpbackup, then unmount it when done. I believe this adds some data safety to your /backup partition (i.e. so it's not reachable if a command is issued that might screw up data, it can't effect the /backup data, because it's not mounted).
So, that would make sense as to why they say it requires a separate drive... if you were silly enough to be backing up to your main drive, you obviously can't unmount it.
I think.
