convert2maildir did its job, courier-imap (imap & pop) are causing problems

Hello,

Finally, fixed the problems that were hampering convert2maildir's operation on fbsd 5.4

convert2maildir is complete. But!! I have 2 major problems....

courier-imap is installed and up, listening on imap, pop3 ports...

I have the following packages installed;

# pkg_info|grep courier
courier-authlib-0.55_1 Authentication library used by courier ports
courier-authlib-0.58_2 Meta-port for the courier authentication library
courier-authlib-base-0.58_2 Courier authentication library base
courier-imap-4.0.2,1 IMAP (and POP3) server that provides access to Maildir mail

courier's imap service is accepting connections, but nothing further happens.. Same is the case with pop3

but needless to say, its not serving its purpose ...

I have posted a ticket directly with cpanel's support system. I'm awaiting a second session of support from cpanel support staff..

Why is imap and pop acting up? after a successful maildir conversion, when courier-imap's website specifically says, that its designed to work with maildir mailboxes.

The services are up, but they are not providing service :"(

I did some digging through the forum. Looks like, so far there's, no resolution to this problem.

I tried to get help on freenode irc network in courier-imap's channel ( #courier ) but no body replies there. I'v waited for 30+ hours so far...

I don't want to convert back to mbox format. I want to get this problem fixed in courier-imap as soon as possible.

Having said that, I'd like cpanel development or management staff to consider moving to dovecot as their imap server.

Dovecot is simple and does the job quietly without giving any headaches....

The last few pesky posts on the thread are mine

I'v been referred to cpanel support staff. Contacted them .. and they weren't able to fix the problem in the first session.

I, with some un-paid help from my datacenter people (ony a first time) fixed the problem.

But I can't log-in..
