    Default Could not create /home/user/mail/inbox: Permission denied

    Hi, I added an account and it seemed to add okay, but in the middle of the confirmation screen it prints;

    Could not create /home/username/mail/inbox: Permission denied

    I checked the permissions on the directories in /home and it's adding the user directories under root:root instead of username:username, any clue on what would cause this?

    strange thing is the first 16 accounts added fine,

    Thanks in advance

    I know that we don't have to dig up old threads but as I searched the forums and this thread is definning the same problem as I am experiencing thats why I am updating it.

    The new accounts are created but the username directory in /home is chowned as root.root instead of username.username and giving the error

    Could not create /home/username/mail/inbox: Permission denied <br>
    Added Entries to httpd.conf
    Adding Proftpd conf entry
    Bind reconfiguring on ipw using rndc
    Added Named File
    /home/username/public_html does not exist or is not a directory!
    I have already tried /scripts/upcp --force and /scripts/fixquotas but it didn't fix the issue. I also tailed the /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log but strange thing is that the error log didn't show any error.

    I am having this problem on a VPS (Virtual Private Server).

    Try 'cat /proc/user_beancounters' & 'df -i' in shell to see if you have hit any limits (failcnt), this is probably the problem as I had.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I have checked but all of the parameters are within limits.
