Default Could Not Create New Account but Plenty of Disk Space

My reseller account has a 2GB limit on disk space. A few days ago I went to create a new account with 1520MB of space already in use, but it told me I didn't have enough space. I contacted my tech support and they "fixed" it eventually (but caused a much, much worse secondary problem that is the subject of another thread.) But they are claiming they had to turn on "overselling" because once you reach the 2GB limit, accounts can't be created.

I've tried numerous times to explain to them that only 1520MB was used at the time (including sending them the table I copied from WHM that showed each account's limits, which clearly showed 1520MB alloted.)

    Am I missing something?

Okay, so you have a 2GB reseller accont and tried to create 1 account with 1520 MB of disk space. How much disk space was allotted to your other accounts under this reseller account?

As I say, I had 1520MB already in use. And the packages I had already set up to choose from for the account were 10MB and 25MB, so the total couldn't have been more than 1545MB.

When you are assigned a reseller account with 2000 MB of disk space, when overselling is turned off, you are only allowed to allocate 2000 MB of disk space. To allocate more than 2000 MB of disk space on a reseller account with 2000 MB of disk space allocated to it, overselling must be enabled. Actual disk usage is irrelevant until overselling is enabled. When overselling is enabled, you will be unable to create new accounts once 2000 MB of disk space is used.

Let me be clearer: 1520MB had been allotted; less than 1GB of space was actually being used up.

You had allotted 1520 MB to all your other accounts combined. How much were you trying to allocate to this new account when you encountered this error of being unable to create an account?

Offhand, I can't think of anything that would cause that error to appear when you have 480 mb of disk space remaining for allocation and you're only trying to allocate 25 mb. Your hosting company is welcome to contact our technical analysts for assistance with regards to this so we can diagnose and resolve this issue properly.
