Default Courier to Dovecot Conversion -- your experiences?

We are considering a conversion from Courier to Dovecot, mainly to get the benefit of IMAP IDLE support in Dovecot.

Are there any potential problems or pitfalls in doing this conversion for customers? Any experiences doing this on a production server, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated.

i would like to know this as well. I am pretty sure there is a "gotcha" concerning imap folders, but i cant remember exactly what it is. i think it has to do with folder subscriptions.

    1. There is potential for loss of folder subscriptions. I think this affects webmail more than clients like Thunderbird.

    2. People that use POP3 as if it is IMAP ( i.e. leave all messages on server ) might have to redownload all their mail.
