cPanel 11.24 DNS API - editdns missing

I was looking at the XML-API documentation but it looks like the editdns api call is missing.

Please advise.

Hello,
There is currently no XML API call to edit DNS zones. We should be releasing one in the near future.


Until that time, you can use the dump zone function to get the current contents of the zone, then the delete zone function to delete it. Then add the zone back with the changed information.

Correct me if I'm wrong but according to the XML API call for adddns, this is not even possible as it will only add a zone based on the standard zone template. Anyway thank you.

You are correct. If you need non-standard values, you will need to edit the template in the meantime or edit the zone through WHM.

Should be sometime between now and Dec 1st as long as we don't run into anything that pushes back the release.

Thanks, please make sure it works properly with DNS Clusters, ie the same as WHM works, when you edit, it updated all the nodes.

The XML-API calls tie into the same functions that WHM (and cPanel) use.

As 11.24 is still propagating through the builds (not yet at STABLE), it's still a bit premature to expect 11.25 at this time.

However, feel welcome to keep an eye on http://changelog.cPanel.net to become aware of when this functionality becomes available. Our changelog is also available in RSS format, there's a link to it near the top of the page.

It is being actively worked on but I don't have any ETA at this time.

Bumping this question up, I know sometimes release dates get pushed back, but 6 months late on a point release?

A guy could sure go for some Edit DNS API love here...
