Default cPanel 11 on Apache 1.3

Will cPanel 11 run stable on Apache 1.3? I know there are a lot of feature upgrades with cPanel 11, and it appears some of them require Apache 2.x. Will there be another release for running cPanel 11 on Apache 1.3, without the features that require Apache 2.x? Or will Apache 2.x be required in order to run cPanel 11?

Yesterday, one of our clients updated to cPanel/WHM v11 -- Current edition -- Apache v1.3.37 and every thing is working smoothly, so far.

Just goto this page and read it and download the PDF files: http://www.cpanel.net/products/cPane...l11/index.html

cpanel/WHM comes standard with Apache1.3 and so version 11 is working fully and perfect with Apache1.3. In a short moment (a few weeks) cpanel will come with a new EasyApache3 script to upgrade your Apache 1.3 to version2.
The story that cpanel/WHM 11 needs Apache 2 to work fully is absolute Bull......

    - I'm more concerned about cPanel officially supporting it, rather than "it worked for me"

The story that cpanel/WHM 11 needs Apache 2 to work fully
    - So there are ZERO features in cPanel 11 that will require Apache 2? Meaning, all of the features in cPanel 11 will work in Apache 2 as well as Apache 1.3?

I read both PDF files, one doesn't even mention the apache version, and the other one says that there will be a script to upgrade to Apache 2.x. That could be taken to mean 2.x is required, and there will be a tool so that you can upgrade to it from 1.3, or 1.3 will work, but if you decide to use 2.x, there is an upgrade tool for that.

It is supported by the cPanel. This is not a hack to get the cPanel v11 to work on Apache 1.3.37.

It depends on what features you are looking for/want. The cPanel accomodates the features come with each version of Apache v1.3.x vs 2.x, as well as more/other features the cPanel deems possible/best/needed.

easyapache is the "update" tool. The cPanel will download and install the Apache version required/preferred either v1.3.x or v2.x.

This thread sheds more light on Apache: http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?t=65909
    Hope this helps!

cPanel/WHM don't need Apache to run. Apache is a part of the many features it can serve for your needs. So on short therm, it doesn't matter what version of Apache you are using to work with cpanel/WHM
