cPanel 11 htaccess dont work - please help

Hello ,

i have a big problem.

I´m login into cPanel and go to "htaccess password protection". At this i added a new user + password.

Now access the protected site i must enter a user but no password to access.

Although a password in the password file is deposited needs I only the user name without password to enter over the side to access to be able.

Server informations:

WHM 11.1.0 cPanel 11.1-E11411
CENTOS Enterprise 4.4 i686 - WHM X v3.1.0

.htaccess File was put on by cPanel:

AuthType Basic
AuthName " teest"
AuthUserFile "/home/rvadmin/.htpasswds/public_html/test/passwd"
require valid-user

passwd File was put on by cPanel:

goto:no78ydNuCg7BM

I can login to the site with user "goto" and no password.
I can't login to the site with user "goto" and the correct password.
I can't login to the site with user "goto" and a wrong password.

And i dont find the reason for this problem.

Can anyone help me please?

Hi,

I'm having same problem in our servers.
cpanel is not generating correct password in passwd file.
if you observe, when you create a new user, cpanel displays a blank password in confirmation message and that blank password is on file, because of this you can login with no password.
cpanel must look this, because is a bug.

Also location of passwd files was changed, before was:
/home/USERNAME/.htpasswds/DIR/passwd

Now is
/home/USERNAME/.htpasswds/public_html/DIR/passwd

cPanel 11.1-E11411 is a bit old.. just tried it in 11.3.1 and it seems fine.

I'm running on CURRENT tree and last version is:
WHM 11.1.0 cPanel 11.2.1-C11600

And my servers has the .httpasswd problem.

But the problem exists also after the update in the most current version

Hallo ,

with me the problem is repaired.

With the help of cPanel the support I could find it out cPanel but at the RVSkin lay not on.

I have thereupon a Mail on rvskin written and those this nose communicated.

Short time came later an update for the RVSkin out which this error repaired.

Even if you use the RVSkin, then absolutely on the most current version update. This does not contain the error any longer.

Anybody using RVSkin, please update it to latest version. Or turn-on auto-update as it will be updated every couple days. cPanel changed the code on the last minutes. And I still see changing and adding new features in almost cPanel update on the CURRENT tree.
