I have a CPanel account and have created a second ftp account for someone. I allowed the CPanel to create the subdirectiory which showed up in my public_html directory along the lines of
this fictional example: if my domain iss www.mypet.com
user name: dog
password: ruffruff
it made the subdirectory
Directory: /home/mypet/public_html/dog and finished by giving me this message:
<<FTP Account Maintenance
Account Created
The ftp account dog with password ruffruff was successfully created.
Make sure that you connect to ftp.mypet.com with your ftp client, or you may not be able to login. >>>
------------
My problem is that it will not let the user "dog" login with CuteFTP
we have tried configuring CuteFTP with
host address ftp.mypet.com
user name dog
password cat
initial remote directory /dog
and it will not connect. Also when trying to connect with Internet Explorer 6, it also asks for username and password but will not recognize user dog with psssword cat
I have changed the username domain name and password to illustrate this example so it will not work with that.
Has anybody added an ftp accoutn and gotten it to work? What am I doing wrong?
thanks
Dsn
