Cpanel 4.0

Releases will start being taged Cpanel 4.0 later tonight. All this means as that we are preparing the cpanel tree to be able to be upgraded to Nocsoft. [b:ff6d46de23]Cpanel 4.0 will just be a very stable release of Cpanel3 with and upgrade path to nocsoft.[/b:ff6d46de23] Once Cpanel hits 4.1 it will be preped to be Nocsoft "compatible" ie there will be an upgrade path to Nocsoft 1.0. Cpanel 3.0/Webpanel will not be upgradable to Nocsoft. You will have to upgrade to Cpanel 4.0 before you can upgrade to Nocsoft. The version number is being changed to aviod confusion about what can and cannot be upgraded.


Upgrade Paths

Cpanel4 -> NocSOFT

WebPanel -> Cpanel4 -> NocSOFT

The beta tree is already merged with the stable tree.

We will be starting a new beta cycle in a few days.

NocSoft is a product being developed by the current Darkorb development team (Nick and myself) to be released by the NocSoft Group, LLC later this year.

NocSoft will be a complete replacement for Cpanel, and will include many new features such as server clustering and billing integration. As the release date nears, you can find more information on NocSoft at www.nocsoft.net.
