CPanel Account Missing

Hi,

I have a user who's CPanel account has disappeared. The domain still resolves correctly to the server (http and ftp both work still). There is a user directory in /home, but logging in via port 2082 doesn't work.

When I tried to move the account onto another server, there was an error with /scripts/pkgacct user:

pkgacct started.
pkgacct version 4.2 - running with uid 0
using time::hires for speedups
Unable to find domain name for user

No daily, weekly, or monthly backups exist.

Any ideas?

Is there a file for this user in /var/cpanel/users?

As sparek said, you should check for the user file under /var/cpanel/users/ if that exists, check whether any of the lines in that file commented, if yes, uncomment those, save the file and restart cpanel.

Check if this fixes on the original server.

Nope, there is no file in /var/cpanel/users

Odd.

I would recommend to take a backup of that domain and recreate the account and then restore it.

Try this. work 100% if the account is created without any problems.
