With my respect, no I didn't. Since you are using Edge, it is no surprise that you're having this or any other problems :-)

since all updates - new features on edge versions will eventually become available to the other "more stable" versions i don't think that anyone would like to wake up one morning to find out that their apache is down due to a "normal - everyday" cpanel update.
if you think differently it might be because you will end up with more customers but i will end up loosing them

I wouldn't run a hosting server without mod_security! I wouldn't like to count the number of times it's stopped script uploads....

I am sure it goes without saying that edge release is definately not for production servers. However; due to edge testers time and effort, we all benefit by enjoying a less troublesome stable and current release. Do edge testers have their own forum? I think they should, if they don't already. I am all for supporting an edge community.

I am one of the ones trying to help sort this mess out. If you use a basic apache2 or 2.2 setup with php the new easyapache works pretty good

If you use suphp,DAV or frontpage things don't work out quite as smooth

Most of the rest of the EDGE seems pretty good

As far as the ones complaining about EDGE if your helping sort out the issues great if not quit complaining and don't try to run it

We have been running EDGE for over a year without much problems but
then I am usually capable of finding and fixing problems myself in just
a few minutes and before Cpanel is probably even aware of the problems
so most Edge issues are non-issues with us.

The same might not hold true for less experienced administrators and for
those, I would recommend using a more tested branch.

For those who know there stuff though, Edge is definitely the way to go!

PS: mod_security works just fine with Apache 2 and 2.2 but you need
to compile manually and replace the module installed by WHM

hey i just wondering do you use edge on live server, and have you had many issues with using edge as i been really wanting to start using php 5 with apache 2 so i can write port my custom apache modules to cpanel apache and also make my new opensource cms to work with the current technolgy that will be available by the time i complete my project.
also if you do use it live is it just a personal server or do you have clients on there as well.
and with the new suexec in apache 2 do you find the server load less then a php 4.4 suexec server setup

    thanks

    Steve
