    Unhappy Cpanel Backup not working

I go into accounts I want to backup and use the Cpanel Backup Unility and choose Full backup and save to home directory and it doesn't back anything up. Left with tar files with zero bytes. I've also tried using FTP and it again doesn't work.

I go back to backup and it says it is in progress. It's been four hours and nothing.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Are you out of disk space wherever you're sending the backup files to? The zero sized files is a common symptom for that. Can't be a permission problem or you wouldn't have zero sized files.

I trippled the quota and no go, it just makes the tar.gz backup file with 0 byte size and emails the backup is complete. Permission of the file is the same as all others in the directory.

Thanks for the suggestions, what else could it be?

    Thumbs down Update

This is the content of the email sent saying the backup is complete....

    --------------------------------------------------------
    pkgacct started.
pkgacct version 4.1 - running with uid 0 using time::hires for speedups /home/usrID/backup-10.23.2005_04-48-15_usrID exists, please remove it and try again

Followed the suggestion and it still didn't work.

Perhaps a stupid question, sorry in advance if it is, but is the filesystem out of space?

Change directory to the place the backup is being generated and run "df ." and let us know.

Tonnes of space...only about 10 accounts on this box. It's very specialized in being focused towards e-business web sites.

I just submitted a ticket to my Data Center and they updated Cpanel and it worked.
