cPanel creates an empty .htaccess file that keeps coming back

cPanel keeps creating an empty .htaccess file on all of the hosting accounts on my server (datacenter reseller). If you delete the .htaccess file via ftp or via cPanel's file manager, it just keeps coming back, no matter how many times you delete it.

I have asked my host about this, and they say they don't know how to fix it. I think there's a fix for it, unless it's a bug in the latest version, because on my old host this didn't happen (I switched hosts about a year ago), unless you did something that warranted cPanel creating an .htaccess file. But ever since I've been with this new host, cPanel creates empty .htaccess files in the public_html/www directory for no reason on all of my accounts, and I can delete them until I'm blue in the face, but they just keep coming back.

Does anyone know how to stop cPanel from creating these empty .htaccess files? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what's wrong with a blank .htaccess file? If it's blank, it doesn't do any harm. Since it starts with . (dot) it will be hidden in folder view and ftp unless you specifically look for hidden files which also does no damage as it's blank.

I know it's ok to leave there, but you know those little things that bug you? That's one of those things for me, it just bugs me. Never having it, and then always having it, it's just one of those little things that bug me and if there's a way to stop cpanel from creating it, I'd like to do it.

There isn't a way to disable. It works around some other problems, mostly frontpage bugs.
