Cpanel demo

New to cpanel and could do with a bit of help, Am a reseller and would like a step by step guide on how to set up a cpanel demo for my prospective customers.

Take a screenshot or copy the html and make everything link to #.

Using Demo mode still leaves many features open for people to abuse.

Demo mode works fine. What I do is like once a week I terminate the demo account then reactivate it. So any traces of what users do are gone.

Bearing in mind that I don't have the enable/disable option in whm due to my reseller status how do I set a demo account up?

i visited your site and saw u have a demo cp for a sub-domain.
how can it be done - to give cp to a sub-domain?

Just create an account IE demo.domain.com and turn it into a demo account. Bingo you now have a demo.

Yup - a demo and a security hole. I strongly recommend you just use a static demo...

What exactly is the security hole matt? If the account is limited in functionality and features, where does the security hole exist. If this is a big problem, then Nick should change something here..

The only thing i noticed is that one can create a forwarder on the demo account and it will actually work..

I tried the demo account on a subdomain long ago and people were allowed to create mailing lists, subdomains of the subdomain account, get ssh access and all sorts of other things. We had some stuff messed up.. I now cannot remove all of that stuff they've added - and it was just a big nightmare. I don't think I'll be doing anything other than static demos from now on either..

We got cracked a year or so ago because of a demo account. From that point on, we do not have a demo any more. In my opinion demos are evil and are not required, a plain html &demo& should be sufficient for most hosts.
