cPanel DNS Only Requirements

I'm just about to setup two DNS only VPS servers and I have a couple of simple questions.

1) Will the following spec VPS be OK for about 1,000 DNS records?
Centos
384MB RAM
15GB hard disk
150GB bandwidth/month

2) Does the dns VPS need any special partitioning prior to installation of the cPanel dns server?

3) Once setup and followed the instructions for installing the clustered dns, do I simply stop BIND on the web server?
