Cpanel - Email and DNS only

Wasn't sure where to post this so i am starting ehre, if its the wrong forum, please let me know.

We currently have four servers

2 CentOS running Cpanel
1 Windows 2003 running Plesk
1 Windows 2003 doing softgrid backups for customers, etc.

I have 5U in my hosting space, and we are looking at a new server to fill that space to do .Net work. Thie means my Plesk server would go the way of the dinosaurs (thank god!) and I will have that server back in my pool to use.

my thoughts were getting the Cpanel DNS only app, and then putting email services/Spam Assasin on it as well. Is this possible? Has anyone done a DNS/Email server only with cpanel?

My thoughts are this:

1. Windows email is horrid, and any offerign i have found (MailEnable, etc) just doesnt keep spam from coing in and is always buggy.

2. If I take my older box (1u - P4 CPU and 2GB of ram) I can utilize it as just DNS and email, i can keep thos service soff my centos and .net boxes.

any ideas guys?

It seems like you are trying to offload Spam/Email onto another server because SpamAssassin can add quite a bit of overhead if you process a lot of email.

While cPanel/WHM does not natively support remote mail servers yet, an alternative solution would be to use a lighter-weight solution for spam protection such as ASSP. You can find a list of alternative spam protection tools that work with cPanel/WHM at:
