cpanel error: file /var/cpanel/users/root is empty or non-existent

Had this unusual entry I've never seen in cpanel/logs/error_log
ran /scripts/updateuserdomains to no effect
Any solutions or just ignore it?

So still looking for an answer.

confirming that I see the same error message here, and it seems to occur nightly. It started on 2010-02-06 for me.

/scripts/rebuildcpusers didn't create a /var/cpanel/users/root

Any other suggestions?

I can tell you what I ended up doing...
I created a new file called root by opening one of my other users, copying the content, and then editing the info to fit my server's root profile.
DNS, mx, IP, etc..
Save and name the file root with permissions of root :: root 0640

Did anyone mention the logfile where we are seeing this? It's in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log

as in:-

# grep '/var/cpanel/users/root' /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log

My "best guess" is that it's a low impact bug. The main issue seems to be that it was filling up the error_log. (and annoying the 'eck out of a few of us sysadmins LOL). I think that one of the scripts mentioned in the OP is supposed to be looking for a cpanel user "system" rather than "root".
