hi,
I'd like to try out the recommended method of 'securing' local hdd partitions as outlined on http://admin0.info/security/3partition.html
However, I wanted to know if anyone see anything there which MAY NOT work with Cpanel and/or 'break' anything.
In particular, the 'nosuid' on both /tmp and /home
Afaik Cpanel has made modifications such that /tmp can now be safely mounted with 'noexec' but I need to find out if there other options listed on the above URL will break anything..
In particular:
/dev/hdX /tmp ext3 nosuid,nodev,noexec,noatime 1 2
and
LABEL=/home /home ext3 nosuid,nodev,noatime 1 2
For example, when doing an apache recompile (easyapache) it writes temp files in /home/cpapachebuild .. does that need suid?
Thanks!
