    Default cPanel .htaccess problem.

    Hi,

here is my problem. i have accidentally deleted the .htaccess file and now my all directories are showing error.

it' says 500 internal server error. if the the directory don't have any file then it will show index of. but when i upload file it's shows internal server error.

in easy way. you can say that my server running the html files correctly and none of my php file is working. when i try to open html file then it shows me the 500 internal server error. i am assuming that this is the error becuase of my htaccess file.

Please help me solve this problem.

    Hello

Please check the Apache error log to the specific error message pertaining to the "Internal Server Error" message you see when accessing your website. The Apache error log is located at:

    Code:
    # /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log
    Thank you.

If you don't have a backup of your site for that .htaccess file, are you using a script like WordPress, Joomla or something along those lines? If you are, you could try downloading a copy of that application and then restore the default .htaccess it uses.

If you aren't the hosting provider for the box, please check if your provider might have a backup copy.
