Cpanel login failed after major restorations

HI,

i need advise.. i was transferring over all full backup files to a new server and has successfully restored all accounts. However most of my users cant login to their cpanel and i need to do a password reset for them.

their website, etc.. run fine after the restore except that they cant login to the cpanel. i said most users since most of them reporting but not sure whether this is affecting all accounts or not.

please advise any fix..

Your best bet for a quick fix is most likely resetting the passwords via SSH as the root user or in the WHM under Main >> Account Functions >> Password Modification for the users affected.

You could use the following script in root SSH to change the password for all the accounts:

/scripts/chpass username newpassword

Where username is the cPanel username and newpassword is the new password.

This will reset it for the cPanel login and FTP. Since enough accounts appear to have had the issue, it might be easiest to simply do this for all accounts and pick a random password for each.
