    Default Cpanel Secure?

Why are there old versions of proftpd and other packages? Have they been patched to be secure or do cpanel developers just not care?

They do a pretty good job of keeping Cpanel secure. I was told that PureFTP is more secure than ProFTPd. I began using PureFTP on all servers. The only problem is that there seems to be a limit of 3 FTP sessions from the same IP number. One customer I have had 10-12 people who uploaded info for a newspaper column, and this was a problem. I switched that server back to ProFTPd so there was no limit of access per IP number.

By the way, you may want to phrase any future questions in a nicer manner. People who sound whiny or judgemental (Or just plain rude) should not expect to receive replies from the Cpanel developers. It's a matter of etiquette.
