Default cPanel time servers out of time

    Hi,

When I set up the time zone and sync it via WHM I can see that it is 25 minutes late.

I choose the Sydney timezone. The official time in Sydney is here:
Current local time in Australia – New South Wales – Sydney

When I sync it, it's 25 minutes late.

Are the cPanel time servers out of time?

    Please help

Is the system a VPS, such as Virtuozzo, OpenVZ, Xen, or other virtualized environment?

Is the "tzdata" software package up-to-date (e.g., the RPM named "tzdata" in RHEL or CentOS)?

Please provide the output of the following commands via root SSH access:
    Code:
    # grep -H '' /etc/*release /var/cpanel/envtype /usr/local/cpanel/version
    # rpm -qi tzdata
    # date && date -u && rdate -p rdate.cpanel.net && ntpdate -qv clock.isc.org
If you would like to synchronize the time via root SSH access please try one of the following commands:
    Code:
    # rdate -s rdate.cpanel.net
    # ntpdate -v clock.isc.org

The time sync works fine if I manually do it with some other time server:
    /usr/bin/rdate 67.205.110.4

so there's surely something wrong with the cPanel time servers.

    Please advise

Does the issue still occur if the firewall on your server is temporarily stopped (e.g., an iptables-based firewall ruleset)?

If stopping the firewall temporarily does not help then I would consider escalating the issue via a support request. Please let me know the ticket ID number (e.g., via a PM) upon submitting the support request so that I may follow-up internally. For reference, the links in my forums signature may be used to initiate a ticket submission (e.g., Support Options).

    Hi,

I get the same connection refused with the csf firewall stopped.

I opened a support ticket and its ID is 582321

    Thanks
