    Default Cpanel VS. Plesk

    Hi!
A few years ago, I had try plesk for a little while, and I think Cpanel is the best and use it till now.

But, I found plesk is also catch up now and their price is only one time fee, not like cpanel is yearly fee, you need to pay yeay after year.

Is there anyone use both cpanel and plesk and are able to compare these two control panel software for us ?

Not to interrupt what is likely to be a lively discussion, cPanel does offer cPanel/WHM on a one-time fee basis and has done so for some time. However, more importantly you should look at what is included in a cPanel/WHM license such as free ticket-based support, free installation, unlimited domains etc. versus what is included in a license from one of our competitor's products. This is of course aside from the obvious inspection of the feature sets of both products to see which product would be more useful to you.

I have found in my experience in dealing with people moving to cPanel/WHM, many people are tired of being "nickel and dimed to death" and prefer the well inclusive package cPanel as well as its partners and distributors offer.

    Thumbs up Comparison

With what I have seen over the last few months with Cpanel... and I am surprised they have not assigned me a personal tech already... There is no comparison to their excellent tech support and response time. Even if I never use the tech support I am glad to pay the yearly fee to know there is a reliable and overqualified person who will be able to resolve my issue within a more that acceptable amount of time. the fee is nothing to bawk at when you should consider the ramifications of having a server down because of software issues, when customers are breathing down your back and threatening to leave. I have not had one "down time issue" and I just attribute that to a well designed package. Any issue I have had to deal with was of minor consequence(and usually my fault) and was always resolved in a blink of an eye.

I know I probably makes some people not feel good for asking these questions, I use and like cpanel, I just want to know if plesk is also a good option if you just got 2 domain on that server and you need a control panel software, correct me if I am wrong, as I know u have to pay the same price for cpanel even if you just got 2 virtual hosts on that box, but in plesk you can select license under 30 domains.

I already used cpanel for years, I don't like to learn new CP.

I`m using both Panels and there both good an doing there job well.

Here some good an bad things bout them.

    Cpanel
    + Great support
    + Tons of features
    + 3dparty support
    + easy install
    + easy updating
    - Noobs can break things with ease
    - WHM design
    - Expensive

    Plesk
    - Support sucks
    - Not flexible (only basic features etc)
    - Borked install
    - updating troublesum
+ Once running, stable as hell.
+ Both admin as user panel has a Inituive Design
    + Noob proof
+ Better licensing system (10, 30 domains etc)
    + Cheaper then cPanel

I favor cPAnel because of it`s features, support and update system. But in the end, its something personal.

The pricing is far more favorable with cPanel than it is with Plesk.

We're a cPanel partner and quite happy with the pricing arrangement. We pay on a per month basis.

cPanel do need to spend more time developing the more advanced services, better clustering support for one. We would have no problem paying more for it.

Clients like all the features cPanel provides. But that presents its own problems ... they press all the buttons until something breaks. So continuing work with stability and fixing bugs is a must.

Plesk may look "swiss" but it lacks features.

I use both and I don't think there is any comparison.... whm/cpanel is much easier to administer, has better organization and a nicer interface....

    I preffer to say:
In cPanel, do what you want to do.
In Plesk, do what HE WANTS YOU to do
But, as said above, installed.. this is too much stable, but if you start to change things, bye bye to your plesk server
