Default cPanel and WHM on Amazon EC2

    Hi,
I have installed cPanel and WHM on an Amazon EC2 instance (OS: CentOS 5.5). Just after the installation, I hosted a site with a temp page and it was working fine. Later when I stopped the instance from within the AWS Management Console and started it again, it started showing the default page instead my my temp page. It's probably the NAT that is creating problem. Can anybody please guide me how I should handle this issue? Your cooperation is highly appreciated.
    Thank you.

You'll need to get an elastic IP address, otherwise the server's IP will change every time you stop/start it.

Dear Astopy, thanks for the reply. The Elastic IP is already in placed. The problem is that my domain resolves to elastic IP but the cPanel has assigned internal IP to the domain. I have tried to change domain's IP through WHM. Although it says the ip has changed but when I checked the domain's ip it was still the old one (internal). I have also tried server restarts but it doesn't work. I think cPanel is not handling elastic IP properly. Any workaround please?

For Apache, the IP needs to be the internal IP, while the DNS needs to have the external IP. Check the DNS zone shows the external IP and that httpd.conf file shows the internal one.

Thanks for this. I am trying to achieve the same. Basically move my entire dedicated server to an EC2 instance. Is there any step by step guide to installing WHM/Cpanel with all the stuff running (BIND named, SFTP, etc etc)?

Basically, instead of my hosting provider, the server is Amazon. Everything else is the same.

Can this be done? Looks like there are some major differences like "Elastic IP" etc which I never needed in my dedicated hosting environment?
