Cpanel/WHM, custom MX entries

Not sure where this question would best go, so i'm posting it here.

Here's the setup:
mydomain.net
clientdomain.com

clientdomain.com added using WHM of course, all settings pretty standard.

mydomain.net however, is set up with a 3rd party MX entries. default mail is to drop in the main default email account created w/ all cpanel accounts.


The issue:
mail from clientdomain.com (and client domains, and possibly any other domains that are on the same server) does not use those MX entries.

mail will just end up in that default box, essentially ignoring the MX entries.

From what I've been told, this is how cpanel handles mail internally, so to speak. Is there any way to adjust that on the users end, or is it pretty much part of the system and isn't really changable unless you rewrite the code?

I believe that you need to remove the entry for the domain from:
/etc/localdomains

Once done, exim (the SMTP MTA) will then look for the domain MX record and send email offsite.
