    Question /cpanel /whm /webmail alias

I just finished upgrading cpanel and now all of my /cpanel /whm /webmail, etc aliases quit working. I have found several other posts that mention needing to add ScriptAlias lines to the httpd.conf file, but it seems that there should be some option in cpanel to do this. Also if I was going to add these lines, would I need to add them to every VirtualHost section or would there be a better place to put them?

    Thanks

    Steve

Please see if you do have the following entries in your httpd.conf. If it does try disabling php-suexec and see if that makes any difference.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Alias /sys_cpanel/ /usr/local/cpanel/sys_cpanel/
    Alias /java-sys/ /usr/local/cpanel/java-sys/
    Alias /img-sys/ /usr/local/cpanel/img-sys/
    Alias /akopia/ /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/interchange/share/akopia/
    Alias /neo-images/ /usr/local/cpanel/base/neomail/neo-images/
    ScriptAliasMatch ^/cpanel/(.*) /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/redirect.cgi
    ScriptAlias /cpanel /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/redirect.cgi
    ScriptAlias /whm /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/whmredirect.cgi
    ScriptAlias /securewhm /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/swhmredirect.cgi
    ScriptAlias /webmail /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/wredirect.cgi
    ScriptAliasMatch ^/webmail/(.*) /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/wredirect.cgi
    ScriptAliasMatch ^/kpanel/(.*) /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/redirect.cgi
    ScriptAlias /controlpanel /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/redirect.cgi
    ScriptAlias /securecontrolpanel /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/sredirect.cgi
    Alias /mailman/archives/ /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/archives/public/
    ScriptAlias /mailman/ /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/cgi-bin/
    Alias /pipermail/ /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/archives/public/
    Alias /interchange/ /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/interchange/share/interchange/

Yes, those lines are present in the httpd.conf. I tried it both with and without phpsuexec enabled and it didn't seem to make a difference.

    Any other ideas?

It actually produces a 500 error as a result of a failed 404 error:

    Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@tbiduluthmn.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Interestingly enough if I try to visit www.domain.com/cpanel I get the above error, but if I visit ServerIpAddress/cpanel it seems to work fine.

Not sure without having a check...

Anyway did you have check at the file /var/cpanel/users and see if the entries are correct ?

Also a recompilation of apache can help.

    Did you do as recommended:

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
I.e. check what errors you get in the apache logs for both the mai httpd process and also in the cPanel daemon logs?

/var/cpanel/users look alright I can't see anything strange in there.

As far as the log files, they are simply producing a 404 error. I removed the ErrorDocument directives from the httpd.conf so it no longer produces a 500 error.
