cpanel will not open cpsrvd failed, need help!!

I have seen many posts on this, but all the solutions that I ran across have not worked.

last night cpanel just stopped. 2082/2086 connection times out.

I ran this twice:
rm -f /usr/local/cpanel/cpanel
/scripts/installgd
/scripts/cleanmd5
/scripts/upcp

didn't work.

tried to restart cpanel:

All the websites are up, ftp is working, but the main mail server is down.

what should I do?
