cpanellogd is causing quite high load on my server. I currently have it set to run every 24 hours, and the log file suspend after high load set to 4. I have not excluded any hours of the day.

If I run the stats every 4 hours instead of 24, I assume that this will cause load issues for a much shorter time each time it runs?

That's a good question.

Does processing the stats more frequently reduce the load because there are less stats to process each time ?

It will result in shorter stats runs. However the housekeeping needed to resume the runs will ultimately use more cpu time. That being said it may be better to do short bursts instead of one long intensive one.
