Cppop & imap

Hello,

I recencly had a new server. In service manager imap & cpop show as failed. when i try and restart cppop in whm i get this

Attempting to restart imap  
Waiting for imap to restart.... . . . . . . . . . . finished. 

imap status
 
 imap has failed, please contact the sysadmin (result was "couriertcpd is not runningauthdaemond is not running").

I have tryed /scripts/restartsrv_courier but this has dont nothing. For pop i get this:

Attempting to restart cppop  
Waiting for cppop to restart.... . . . . . . . . . . finished. 

cppop status
 
 
cppop has failed, please contact the sysadmin.

Assuming that you want to be using maildir and courier (not mbox and cppop and uwimap), then you may want to force a reinstall of courier.

Firstly:

/scripts/convert2maildir

just to ensure that all mailboxes are in the correct format.

Then:

/scripts/courierup --force

to ensure that courier is definitely installed and running.

I've previously found that if courier is being used as the pop server, if you restart pop through WHM, it starts cppop and doesn't restart courier - this tends to confuse things a little!

I have the opposite problem with a new server installed yesterday

I had to 'downgrade' cpanel to Stable-114 because of the problems of the latest release, and started transfering accounts from other server

some accounts have their email stored as maildir, and would like to have them in mbox or maildir, but all in one format (never used maildir on cPanel before)

Wow.

I did this /scripts/convert2maildir

and just selected the first option and my I was able to start the POP3 and IMAP
servers. Now I am recieving mail sending mail.

Now need to find out how fix PHP
