Create SSL Cert

Merry XMAS all, how does on go about creating a self gen cert for a domain.

I want as a temporary solution a self generated cert for the following domain interact.engnet.net

Any ideas or should I just bite the bullet and buy a cert.

Hello,

In order to have an SSL on your site please follow the following steps:

1. Send the webhoster following details:
Email Address the Cert will be sent to.
Host to make cert for
Country (2 letter Abbrivation)
State
City
Company Name
Company Division
Email
Password

2. With the following details they would provide you a CSR ( certificate signing request)
3. With the CSR provided by them please go to thawte.com. ( or any other certificate providers)
4. Purchase the cerificate :You could to these sites to get the cetificate and key .
5. Please send them the details (.crt and .key) and they should install it for your domain.
