    Default cron /usr/lib/sa/sa1 1 1

Last night, I had to do a hard reboot on one of my servers. Since then I have been getting emails every 10 minutes with the subject:

    Cron <root@server> /usr/lib/sa/sa1 1 1

and the body of the message says:

Cannot append data to that file

In the /usr/lib/sa directory there is an sa1, but its some kind of config file, and I dont see anything there that could be appended to..... How do I fix my error?

It's probably try to log and it can't.

Look in /var/log there should be an sa directory.

There is an sa directory, with the files sa14 to sa22, then sar13 to sar21. The files appear to be binary, so I can't edit them.

Does ANYone have an answer to this question? It appears to be caused by updating the kernel.

    How to fix it?

With mine the problem resolved itself. It emailed me every few minutes the first day, but after that, it just stopped, and everything was fine after midnight.

Getting the same thing here on my brand new servermatrix server with a fresh install of cpanel.

Does anyone know the cause or a solution for this? I also do have a /var/log/sa directory containing

    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 32709 Feb 19 21:59 sa19
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3181 Feb 20 23:50 sa20
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 38605 Feb 21 06:20 sa21
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4875 Feb 20 23:53 sar20

Yet since setting the server up last night I've gotten about 50 messages:

    From: Cron Daemon

    Subject: Cron <root@servername> /usr/lib/sa/sa1 1 1

Body: Cannot append data to that file

    That's all it says.

    Any ideas?

    Hint: check the file /etc/cron.d/sysstat
