Cronjobs don´t work

Hello,

I somehow don´t get my cronjobs to work on a certain server of mine. I tried several scripts that work on other servers. Even tried very simple php scripts, that only create a mySQL table, but those didn´t work as well. All of those scripts I tried work correctly if I start them from the command line in shell (putty), but whenever I try to run the same command line from cronjob they don´t work and I don´t even get an error message.

this is the cronjob code I use: * * * * * php my/path/script.php

So it seems that cronjobs don´t work on the whole server. Does someone of you know how I could problably solve that problem? I am using redhat linux and of course Cpanel/WHM to administer.

You need to make sure crond works, if not, then restart it.

how can I do so? (make sure that it runs) I tried checking the services and all services run...

Hello,

What is your os?. If it is redhat try the following command
---------------------------------
/etc/rc.d/init.d/crond restart

Also check your cron log using the following command

tail -f /var/log/cron

[dalem]

use one of the sytaxes below fora user php script cron

/usr/bin/lynx --dump http://domain.com/file.php >/dev/null
/usr/bin/wget -O - http://domain.com/file.php >/dev/null
