    Default Crontab grows exponentially

Every time cpanel runs the /scripts/upcp script at night, it adds these lines to the crontab:

    # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE - edit the master and reinstall.
    # (/scripts/.crontab installed on Tue Sep 17 09:07:14 2002)
    # (Cron version -- $Id: crontab.c,v 2.13 1994/01/17 03:20:37 vixie Exp $)

It grows every day, with every single update to the point of creating a massive file. This behavior has been the same for months now if not years, but I guess no one cares about this at all?

Can anyone do a crontab -e and tell me how many entries like the one above you have in your cron?

    Thanks

somewhere between 150 and 385,235,203 lines on any machine I've seen recently.

Lovely party, pity I wasn't invited.

    Check Bugzilla?

Hum, perhaps if we recompiled crontab.c from source we could get rid of those lines...

Great! Thanks Nick. This has gone on for about 4 to 6 months now, it will be great to get rid of those lines
