Is the update of cpanel the reason for this problem , and how do i restart , or make the cron run again as before.

You can restart cron (on Linux) with:

    /etc/init.d/crond restart

If you've removed laus (audit) recently, you will probably need to do the following to stop the crond errors, if that's what you're suffering:

    echo alias "char-major-10-224 off" >> /etc/modules.conf
    service crond stop
    rmmod audit
    service crond start

I have a similar issue, but my cron seems to have gone missing completely.

    Here is what is says:

    root@*** [/]# service crond start
Starting crond: execvp: No such file or directory [FAILED]

    Anyone seen that before?

    Hello,

I am having crond issue on one of the server - it just fails suddenly and irregularly and does not restart itself.

Can anybody advise on how to resolve this. I am running RHE 3 with latest CPanel release.
