Crontabs not showing up

I have a user on a server that is having crontab problems. Here was the first issue :

/usr/bin/crontab permissions are wrong. Please set to 4755

We did the following :

chmod 4755 /usr/bin/crontab


But now the error has gone but the crontabs still dont show when added in either Standard or Advanced.

Any ideas on this ??

Do the users files in /var/spool/cron exist? have correct permissions? and have any data in them?

And also:

eiger: / # cd var/spool/cron
var/spool/cron: No such file or directory.
