Default Database error while trying to install wordpress on windows

I am installing wordpress 6.2.1 in my domain. I have PHP version 4.4.4 and MySQL version 4.1.21. I am trying to install it in Windows server 2003. When I run install.php file, I am getting below error message:

“WordPress database error Table 'wordpress.wp_options' doesn't exist for query INSERT INTO wp_options (option_name, option_value, autoload) VALUES ('cron', 'a:2:{i:1219754742;a:1:{s:17:\"wp_update_plugins\";a:1:{s:32:\"40cd750bba9870f18aada2478b24840a\";a:3:{s:8:\"schedule\";s:10:\"twicedaily\";s:4:\"args\";a:0:{}s:8:\"interval\";i:43200;}}}s:7:\"version\";i:2;}', 'yes') made by add_option”

I have checked all the settings and they seem to be fine. I have already placed a post in wordpress forum but nobody is replying me. Can anybody guide me what could be the possible reason?

    Thanks,

Are you installing Wordpress 2.6.1 onto a cPanel/WHM server or some other type of server? Note, the environment of your workstation is typically irrelevant, but the server environment is important in diagnosing these issues.

If you have MySQL and PHP installed on Windows server then installing WordPress should not be a problem.

I would suggest you to delete the database and its user and start from scratch. And make sure that the user has full access over the database.
