    Default Default email account created with accounts (why is neccessary to create one?)

    I guess that although it is a legacy practice, it is a bad idea, as it can
    be easily filled with spam.
    Plesk, for instance does not have this "feature" ...

    Indeed, hence we permit you to change this setting. In WHM -> Server Configuration -> Tweak Settings in the Mail section set Default catch-all/default address behavior for new accounts. fail is usually the best choice if you are getting mail attacks. from localuser to fail.
