delete emails?

I use Outlook 2003 for my accounts. Now, how does the server know when to delete the files I've deleted in Outlook?

If you're fetching the emails through a POP client, then just make sure that you enable to option to remove emails from the server after download. Then there will only be your local copy.

If you're connecting to your mail account over IMAP, then delete the messages as you normally would. You will need to manually expunge the messages at a later time (done through your IMAP mail client).
