Delete emails from spam box older than x days

Hi,

I recently enabled spam assassin and spam box for my own domain, and it has worked wonders. However, I don't appreciate having to manually empty the spam box every now and then.

It would be very useful if there was a feature that would remove messages in the spam box older than x days. Is this a spam assassin feature request or a cpanel feature request?

And would anyone else benefit from such a features?

Thanks in advance !

Sincerely,

Eirik Johansen

Sounds like a good idea, but I doubt they will implement it. You could write a php or perl script to connect to imap or pop and delete old messages in the spam box.

I imagine you want a server-side solution for that but...

A mail client set up with emailaddy@domain.com/spam as the username and a ruleset that deletes messages when you delete from your client and/or after so many days would do the trick.

Hi guys,

Yes, I could of course write the script myself, but I imagine that this is something that would be useful to most people using the spam box feature.

elleryjh: Why do you think they won't implement it?

I don't know... it just seemed like something that was too specialized. It would be a nice addition though.
