Default Delete forwarder for non-existent domain

    Hello,

I have a cpanel account that contains a forwarder like this:

    notarealaddress@gmail.com -> mainaccount

Note that is a gmail address being forwarded to the main account address. Obviously gmail does not exist as a domain on the server, and now we need to delete it.

There is no gmail.com in /var/valiases, so the error is:

"Fatal! Write Failure: /etc/valiases/gmail.com. Ignore any messages of success this can only result in failure!"

Creating this file doesn't help. Does anyone know where the forwarders are defined for cpanel - is there a file somewhere?

    Thanks,

    Paul

    /etc/valiases/yourdomain.com

In that file you'll find the forwarder you seek I believe.

I just quoted this part on its own to be clearer...

Question Re: Delete forwarder for non-existent domain

    I apologize, I thought I understood this:
    Hello,

I have a cpanel account that contains a forwarder like this:
What is the domain name on that account, have you checked the file for it at that location?

    Ooops.

It was in the valias for the account domain. So you were right anyway!

I did a grep across all of the valiases previously to make sure it wasn't there, but I am guessing that the '@' messed up the grep which is why it wasn't found.

    Thanks
