    Default digest::md5

This is a brand new cPanel install on CentOS 3.1 and perlmods keep failing on digest::md5:

    inding updated packages
    Downloading needed headers
Cannot find a package matching ncftpget
    No actions to take
    CPAN: Storable loaded ok
    Going to read /home/.cpan/Metadata
Database was generated on Thu, 20 May 2004 10:38:11 GMT
    Running install for module Tree::MultiNode
    Running make for K/KR/KRBURTON/Tree-MultiNode-1.0.10.tar.gz

CPAN: MD5 security checks disabled because Digest::MD5 not installed.
Please consider installing the Digest::MD5 module.

    Scanning cache /home/.cpan/build for sizes
Package seems to come without Makefile.PL.
(The test -f "/home/.cpan/build/KRBURTON006/Makefile.PL" returned false.)
Writing one on our own (setting NAME to TreeMultiNode)

    CPAN.pm: Going to build K/KR/KRBURTON/Tree-MultiNode-1.0.10.tar.gz

    Writing Makefile for TreeMultiNode
    /usr/bin/make -- OK
    Running make install
    Writing /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.4/i686-linux/auto/TreeMultiNode/.packlist
    Appending installation info to /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.4/i686-linux/perllocal.pod
    /usr/bin/make install UNINST=1 -- OK
    Running install for module GD
    Running make for L/LD/LDS/GD-2.12.tar.gz

CPAN: MD5 security checks disabled because Digest::MD5 not installed.
Please consider installing the Digest::MD5 module.

Package seems to come without Makefile.PL.
(The test -f "/home/.cpan/build/LDS004/Makefile.PL" returned false.)
Writing one on our own (setting NAME to GD)

    CPAN.pm: Going to build L/LD/LDS/GD-2.12.tar.gz

    Writing Makefile for GD
    /usr/bin/make -- OK

    Writing /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.4/i686-linux/auto/GD/.packlist
    Appending installation info to /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.4/i686-linux/perllocal.pod
    /usr/bin/make install UNINST=1 -- OK
    perlmod--Install done
/scripts/cleanmd5, realperlinstaller, and safeperlinstaller do not solve the problem. If I attempt to download the perl installer from layer1, it also exits out:

    Writing Makefile for MIMETools
    /usr/bin/make -- OK
    Running make install
    Writing /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.4/i686-linux/auto/MIMETools/.packlist

Package seems to come without Makefile.PL.
(The test -f "/home/.cpan/build/GBARR003/Makefile.PL" returned false.)

    (file "./expectperl" line 8)
There are also some errors about ncftpget. Anyone have any ideas before I reinstall the box?

Yeah, that's the first thing I do, before even installing cpanel. Just did it again and the same errors appear.
